Social Responsibility

If we see something that needs to be addressed, is it alright for us to turn a blind eye or not say something because we are afraid of the backlash?

See, that's a question I asked myself when someone whom I used to really admire and look up to said that they didn't want to address heavy topics because the negative feedback they were getting was too much to handle.
I know it's sometimes hard to hold onto your confidence when you have people coming at you from all sides saying that what you're feeling and what you think is wrong. But in my opinion it's worse to hold your feelings in and pretend like something isn't happening. The world can be unforgiving, especially for people who are outspoken with no apologies.

The thing is, you're going to get that no matter what you talk about. No matter what you do in life, you're going to be faced with people who don't like your message. So why not make your message count? You can still do what you want. Have fun. But at the same time don't downplay your opinion on the important topics because you're afraid of what certain people will say. You'll only be cheating yourself and the people who come to you for your commentary.

Don't state that you're about telling it like it is if you're not going to speak the important truths.
