Your Gun vs. A Life

Why do people treat the second amendment as some catch all term for the right to shoot at will? The second amendment has to do with protecting yourself and your loved ones from harm. It does not mean that you can grab an assault rifle and kill an entire group of people just because you feel like. The fact that there are people who are against stricter gun laws really shows where some of your priorities are.

Not on the people who are being slaughtered back to back lately, not for the families of said people. No, for your right to bare arms and own dangerous machinery, and for what? To do what with? Why does any civilian need military grade weaponry? We don't. We don't need them at all.

Listen, I live in a rather, let's say rough neighborhood. It's safe for me, yeah. But that's because everyone around here knows me. But for some people this can be a pretty risky place to live and it goes without saying the break ins do happen, but that doesn't mean I need an AR-17 just to protect myself and my family from a break in. There are security systems for that. So that if someone breaks in the police are contacted and they can do their job. Hopefully they can do their job without going overboard, but that's a conversation for another time.

Please, I'm asking you guys to think for a second. Is your right to a gun more important than someone's life? Someone's right to live? Because I'd rather keep people safe than own a piece of metal.
