Yep, that's right. While we were too busy paying attention to Trump crying wolf about Obama wiretapping Trump Towers (Seriously...) the rest of the snakes were slithering their way to more oppression. They snuck their way past and moved forward with some very damaging bills that they're trying to put into action. You better sit down for this list of travesties. It's really nothing new but when I break down the destruction we're possibly heading towards, it'll make your head spin. The first is H.R. 861 which is to terminate The EPA aka The Environmental Protection Agency. Our planet is suffering enough and it's only getting worse as time goes on. Without the EPA to keep things in check, the issues we're currently facing are only going to accelerate at a higher momentum, bringing about unprecedented damage to our ecosystems and wildlife. If we see something that needs to be addressed, is it alright for us to turn a blind eye or not say something because we are afraid of the backlash? See, that's a question I asked myself when someone whom I used to really admire and look up to said that they didn't want to address heavy topics because the negative feedback they were getting was too much to handle. I know it's sometimes hard to hold onto your confidence when you have people coming at you from all sides saying that what you're feeling and what you think is wrong. But in my opinion it's worse to hold your feelings in and pretend like something isn't happening. The world can be unforgiving, especially for people who are outspoken with no apologies. The thing is, you're going to get that no matter what you talk about. No matter what you do in life, you're going to be faced with people who don't like your message. Okay, I have a new blog to just vent into. What's the first thing I'm gonna do? Oh yeah, dump a rant on it just so we know where we're going. Don't worry, don't fret. This isn't going to be the only thing on this blog. I'm just feeling something that I want to get off my chest. Let me start by saying this: I'm a young black woman. I see things and I know things and I've experienced things that have shaped me into the woman I am today. Any black woman will tell you the same. I've had my natural hair texture insulted, I've been subject to colorism, and I've dealt with racism in multiple forms. So I react to certain things because I can see where it comes from and it affects me. It's a vicseral feeling. I feel it in my soul. Just like I feel it in my soul when a non black person uses our slang or jocks our style and calls it their own.
