Education and Environmental Protection Demolished
To think that it's only been about a month since the orange idiot took office and threw a wrench in the progress we were gaining as a country. Well, prepare to take a BUNCH of steps backward and into the abyss. He's trying to not only ruin us but kill off the entire world. Although, that's what many said would happen beforehand....
First, he appointed Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education. A rich woman who has never worked in the education system, knows nothing about it, and wants to privatize education. Effectively not only kicking the small amount of education we had out from under us but also trying to implement a system that will benefit the rich over the less fortunate (big surprise there) and pretty much lead to segregation in the school system again. I'm not exaggerating, I'm not joking, this isn't hyperbole. This is real. She used her wealth to gain this job and now she's going to lead to millions of children not getting what little education they were going to receive. Remember, our education system has never been perfect. But every child deserves a base to work off of. Now they won't even get that.
Then he appoints Scott Pruitt as head of the EPA, aka The Environmental Protection Agency. You know, the people who are in charge of making sure the planet doesn't die due to our own selfish stupidity as a species. Let's face it, humans are very destructive towards the environment. But we can change that. Or at least we could have before Pruitt was appointed. Now we're at a disadvantage to do much of anything without the support of our government's assistance and support. No, now we're going to constantly work against our government if we want to save nature and keep ourselves from either starving or burning alive. And no, I'm not going to sit here and explain to you all of the issues we're currently facing on our planet. That's something for another time. Right now I'm focusing on the two idiots we're going to have to either get out of these jobs or work against to protect ourselves.
This all ties back into my earlier message of not being silent and not letting ourselves be bullied into taking things as they are. Don't stop talking about it, don't stop signing petitions, don't stop tweeting about it, or blogging about it. Keep yelling and screaming. Keep marching in the streets. Keep making those phone calls and sending those emails. Because they won't stop, so neither should we.
